Version History:

Superceeds IBM DOS 1.00. This version was the first in general circulation, and may well qualify as the first generally accepted DOS release in terms of product announcement and circulation. It addressed a number of bugs. Major change made to (MODE) command allowing the reassignment of the default parallel printer port LPT1: to any attached asynchronous serial adapter. The (DATE) and (TIME) commands that were external programs in Version 1.00 were ported internally within (COMMAND.COM). This version supported 160k and new double-sided 320k drives, but did not copy between the two unless going from 160k to 320k. Updated (LINK) program and the (DEBUG) program, which could now load files larger than a single 64k segment of memory. (EXE2BIN) added to allow users to convert .EXE files to .COM files for tighter memory use. New prompts, messages, and screens added to (DATE), (TIME), (FORMAT), (CHKDSK), and (ERASE).
